Our employee spotlight is Jacquelyn Pira.
Jackie is a native of Reno, Nevada, has dedicated her career to the field of behavior analysis and support for individuals with disabilities. Her journey began immediately after high school when she took on the role of a Direct Support Professional, working in group homes with adults with disabilities. This early experience sparked a deep interest in understanding behavior and its underlying motivations.
In October 2013, Jacquelyn relocated to California’s Central Valley, where she joined Omelagah, Inc. In 2018, while attending Stanislaus State University, she began working as a Direct Support Professional at Steps in Turlock, CA. Her dedication and skills led to her promotion to Lead DSP at Steps Home. Concurrently, she pursued her bachelor’s degree in psychology, which she completed in 2020.
Building on her academic foundation, Jacquelyn enrolled at Arizona State University, where she earned her master’s degree in applied Behavior Analysis with a specialization in Special Education in 2022. During her master’s program, she accrued valuable fieldwork hours in the early intervention clinical setting, preparing her to sit for the board certification exam.
In May 2024, Jacquelyn achieved her goal of becoming a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA). Her comprehensive education and practical experience have equipped her with the tools to make significant contributions in the field. Jacquelyn remains committed to improving the lives of individuals with disabilities through evidence-based practices and compassionate care.
